Living through Troubled Times

A series of adult forums following worship on Sundays

Sundays during the season after Epiphany we are exploring how our faith impacts various aspects of our lives and vocation. A different facilitator each week will help us explore the intersection of Faith and . . . . Each session stands alone and you can drop in whenever you are available. You might also invite a friend, colleague or neighbor who is wrestling with these topics.

January 25: Christian Faith and Biblical Scholarship with the Rev. Dr. Peter Rodgers
As a priest of 56 years and a life-long scholar, Peter has lived at the intersection of the academic and church worlds. He will share the challenges and insights that this has brought him in his personal journey of faith. Often the two areas remain separate or even at odds. It can be extraordinarily fruitful to bring them together with Peter’s guidance.

February 1: Faith and Vocation with Rev. Brian
What is your calling as a person of faith? What is our collective calling as people who follow Jesus? And how do those callings intersect with the other work you do in your career or home? We’ll explore together what it means to be “called” and how we can live out our vocations faithfully no matter what our employment status is or what work we do for a paycheck.

February 8: Faith and Culture with Deacon Vince
[description forthcoming]

February 15: Faith and Politics with The Rev. Canon Britt Olson
Some of the loudest Christian voices do not fully represent all Christians. What is Christian Nationalism and what is a faithful response to its influence? How did some of liberal Christianity come to be characterized as “Moralistic, Therapeutic, Deism” and how has that influenced the Church? Sometimes we know we disagree with a political perspective but we are unsure how to counter it as a person of faith.
