We have some new neighbors

The St. Luke’s Apartments are Open!

We’re thrilled to show you inside the St. Luke’s Apartments, the finished affordable housing building sitting next door to the church. When we began, we thought we were optimistic when dreaming we could build 42 affordable apartments. This building has 84 units of affordable housing in an 8-story building on land retained by the Diocese of Olympia. With a number of two- and three-bedroom units, families with as many as five children have already begun to move in.

The new St. Luke’s Apartment building includes a rooftop community space with children’s play area, solar panels and gardens. Residents can enjoy views of downtown and the Space Needle, along with all the surrounding mountains, especially Mt. Rainier (Tahoma)!

Already, this new affordable housing is making a significant impact. A family who had been living in their car for the past three months were able to move in and receive assistance to fully furnish their new three-bedroom apartment. The teenagers are now enrolled at Ballard High School.

Phase 2 of the redevelopment will create 206 additional units of housing and a new church space for the congregation on site. Construction is anticipated in to begin in 2026 or early 2027. We’re also in discussion with Launch, a childcare provider for the new space. They’re excited and want to partner with us whenever the time is right. With the support of so many, we have reached $2M of our $2.5M capital campaign goal. Please keep praying.
