“I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” –Matthew 25:36

Serving Meals To-Go, Monday-Friday, 8:00-10:00am

For over three decades, St. Luke’s has been welcoming and serving anyone who needs a meal in our church basement in the heart of Ballard. Each weekday morning, a team of volunteers opens our doors, prepares coffee and food (all of which has been donated), and offers a meal, a cup of coffee, and a warm place to enjoy them to everyone who shows up. We ask our guests to be respectful, but not religious. We pray for them regularly. We pray with them when they ask. We listen to and care for them, and some of them choose to be a part of our congregation, and we welcome them in our midst.

On average, we serve over 100 breakfast meals each day Monday through Friday. That’s about 2,000 meals a month. We warmly welcome volunteers from Ballard and beyond who would like to contribute to this service to our homeless neighbors. If you want more information, please contact Sara Bates at 206-784-3119 or email us, or sign up to volunteer at SignUpGenius.com. If you’re not a morning person, there’s still a place for you! We also need volunteers to do prep work some afternoons and evenings.
